About

Frontend developer at Spatie, in Antwerp. Having a great time building things people actually use.

I write frontend code for a living, which is a polite way of saying I spend my days in the space between what someone asks for and what they actually need. The asking part is the bit I enjoy most.

A brief usually arrives as a sentence. Somewhere underneath it there is a person with a job to do and a workflow that has never quite fit. Getting to that person, understanding their needs and wants, and turning them into a product that works for you and your customers: that is the whole job. The code is how it gets delivered.

Away from the screen

There is a whole section of this site for that, and it is not an accident. The trips, the cooking, the things I am slowly getting better at end up in the writing too. A personal site that only talks about work is a résumé with extra steps.
